Lancasters of 622 Squadron, based at RAF Mildenhall, taxi out for another long, hazardous journey deep into enemy territory. With engines roaring and about to begin its take-off run is Lancaster GI-J ('Jig'). This Lancaster completed a total of 113 missions with 622 squadron, commencing its operational flying on the 30th March 1944 and completing its final mission on the 22nd April 1945.
